Geosphere: The solid part of the Earth that consists of all rock, and the soils and sediments on the Earth’s surface.
Crust: The layer of earth that is the thinnest layer, and makes up less than 1% of the planet's mass.
Mantle: The layer of earth that makes about 64% of the mass of the earth.
Core: The layer of earth that is made of the densest elements.
Lithosphere: Earth's outer layer (based on physical properties), 15-300 km thick, divided into techonic plates
Asthenosphere: The layer beneath the lithosphere, solid plastic layer, allows the tectonic plates to move.
Tectonic plates: Pieces of the lithosphere, the rigid, outermost layer of the Earth, that constantly move, cause rock to break, and have continents located on them.
Erosion: The removal and transport of surface material.
