Platform: a computer's operating system. For example, Windows and Macintosh.
Hardware: the physical parts of a computer and related devices. (the computer case, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and scanners)
Data: digital information
Software: computer programs such as applications and instruction sets
Hard Drive: a location in the computer that stores all data. It houses the hard disk, where all your files and folders are physically located.
Memory: the location where a computer stores its data
Binary Code: the computer’s language in the form of a numeric system that only uses two digits — 0 and 1.
Byte: a unit of measurement used to measure data. One byte contains eight bits, or a series of eight zeros and ones.
