Transfer: to cause or to pass from one object to another energy or power; to transmit

Energy: the capacity to do work; any source of usable power.

Power: the rate at which you do work.

Potential Energy: stored energy; the energy an object has due to its position, molecular arrangement, or chemical position.

Kinetic Energy: the energy of motion. The faster an object moves, the more kinetic energy it has.

Watt: the unit of measurement of power (W). One watt is equal to one joule of work done in one second.

Horse Power: the unit of measure of power for engines and motors (hp). 1hp=745W. It could move 150 pounds a distance of 220 feet in a minute.

Thermal Energy: is the energy an object has due to the motion of its molecules. The faster the molecules in an object move, the more thermal energy the objects has.

Mechanical Energy: a combination of the kinetic energy annd potential energy an object has.

Conservation of Energy: a principle stating that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be altered from one form to another.

Work: the use of force to move an objecct over a distance.

Joule: a unit used to measure energy and work (J).
