chance: how likely an event is to occur

mutually exclusive: refers to events that cannot occur at the same time; if one event occurs then the other cannot

probability: the study of chance in which the likelihood of occurrence of a specific event is expressed as a number from 0 to 1 inclusive

relative frequency: a proportion found by dividing the number of experimental outcomes of a particular result by the total number of trials
