incumbent: The current holder of an office, such as ecclesiastical benefice or a an elected office.
majority party: A two-party system is a form of party system where two major political parties dominate voting in nearly all elections
minority party: A political party whose electoral strength is so weak that it has little chance of gaining control of a government.
