Primary Hyperparathyroidism
raised serum calcium and parathyroid hormone and increased urine calcium excretion
Secondary Hyperparathyroidism
Raised serum PTH but normal serum calcium
Tertiary Hyperparathyroidism
raised serum calcium and raised pth and renal failure
Hypocalciuric Hypercalcaemia
mild hypercalcaemia, reduced urine calcium excretion, pth may be elevated
Hypocalcaemia
low serum calcium
vitamin d deficency
low serum calcium, low bone density
Hypoparathyroidism
decreased serum calcium and pth, increased phosphate or normal with nomal alk phosphate
pseudohypoparathyroidism
low calcium, elevated pth(due to pth resistance)
pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism
normal calcium but elvated pth
Paget's Disease
serum calcium normal/slightly elevated. pth normal, alk phos- raised. phosphate normal
Diabetes Mellitus
Raised hormones: glucose, glucagon, cortisol, adrenaline, growth hormone.
Hyperthyroidism
raised t3 and t4
