relation: The manner in which two things may be associated.

slope: The degree to which a surface tends upward or downward.

domain: The set of all possible values of an independent variable of a function.

range: The set of all values a given function may take on

parallel lines: Lines that never intercept each other

slope-intercept form: the equation of a straight line in the formy=mx+b, wheremis the slope of the line andbis its intercept on theyaxis.

standard form: The form of a floating point number whose mantissa lies within a standard specified range of values.

y-intercept: a point where the graph of a function or relation intersects with the y-axis of the coordinate plane

x-intercept: a point where the graph of a function or relation intersects with the x-axis of the coordinate plane

perpendicular lines: two lines or planes that form congruent adjacent angles (a T-shape)

inverse of a function: a relation formed by interchanging the coordinates within each ordered pair of the original function.

function notation: Function notation is essentially replacing "y = " in your equations with "f(x) =".

function: a structured representation of the functions, activities or processes
