All terms in this list:
system of equations: Two or more equations containing common variable(s).
consistent system: A system of equations that has at least one solution.
inconsistent system: A system of equations which has no solutions.
dependent system: Whenever you end up with something that's true, the system is dependent.
independent system: Whenever you end up with something that involves one of the variables, the system is independent.
intersection of graphs: n the mathematical area of graph theory, an intersection graph is a graph that represents the pattern of intersections of a family of sets.
viable region, or feasible region: n optimization (a branch of mathematics), a candidate solution is a member of a set of possible solutions to a given problem.
linear progamming: An algorithm for solving problems asking the largest or smallest possible value of a linear polynomial. Any restrictions on the problem must be expressed as a system of inequalities; in particular, all equations and/or inequalities must be linear.
system of linear inequalities: Two or more inequalities containing common variable(s). Note: Systems of inequalities sometimes include equations as well as inequalities.
matrix: A rectangular (or square) array of numbers. Matrices can be written using brackets or parentheses.
bounded region: a region is bounded when the graph of a system of consistants is a polygonal region
